I am a product designer and an enthusiastic ‘maker’ with the majority of my professional experience in the residential furniture industry.

Most recently I was an in-house designer with Laneventure, a subsidiary of Furniture Brands International.  I worked with product line managers to take new products from concept to final production.  I also provided technical illustration, manufacturing drawings, renderings, construction of working prototypes, and product development support to aid in bringing products to market.

Along with traditional employment, I am exploring several entrepreneurial avenues at this time, primarily in freelance product design, but also coffee roasting and wooden kayaks and canoes.

Feel free to browse through the portfolio and do not hesitate to provide feedback.  As a result of my years in the furniture industry, my portfolio is furniture-heavy, although I have been working on other types of products more recently and hope to post entries about those soon.  This is an experiment in alternatives to the traditional website and printed portfolio, so I’ll likely be changing it around quite often to see what looks and works best.  Drop me a line at ahinesdesign@gmail.com.
